Michael Palmer is Owner and Managing Director of Building Durability Pty Ltd Specialist Consultants, Contractors and Suppliers in building asset management, building & construction problem investigation and analysis, building maintenance, waterproofing and conservation of buildings both modern and historic.

Michael's personal expertise includes extensive knowledge and experience in the durability of buildings and building materials, in concrete spalling investigation analysis and repair, in waterproofing diagnostics and rectification methodology, in structural facade maintenance & repairs and in historic building conservation. He is particularly skilled in the analysis of problems related to building fabric, material performance and waterproofing whether these problems are due to product failures, construction defects, design detailing or product and building misuse.

Building Durability Pty Ltd are the leaders in their specialised field of defects investigation, maintenance, repairs, and waterproofing of all structures from Civil projects to Commercial properties.

Michael Palmer is the Owner and Managing Director of T A Taylor (Aust) Pty Ltd who were established in 1980 and extend from his Grandfather's (Theo Arthur Taylor) company established in 1963 - who continue to provide specialist services with Building Durability and associated entities in the field of defects investigation, maintenance, repairs, and waterproofing of all structures from Civil projects to Commercial properties in New South Wales, Victoria, ACT, The Northern Territory and Around Australia.

Michael Palmer is the Owner and Managing Director of Tecrock Design Pty Ltd who were established in 1992 and who provide the supply of high-quality specialist materials and also site/project specific detailing support in, New South Wales, Victoria, ACT, The Northern Territory and Around Australia.

Michael Palmer graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Management. In 2009 he graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Construction Project Management. Since 1985 he has been involved "on site" gaining practical experience from the previous 2 Generations at that time within the Family organisation.

Since 1998 he has been working Full time within Building Durability and associated entities, developing further practical experience in the construction industry specializing in waterproofing and concrete repairs.

Michael has presented a major paper on commercial building maintenance issues at the 4th International Conference on Building Structures CDS07 held in Venezia Italy in June 2007 and more recently has lectured in various venues on topics related to building durability and waterproofing.

He is a member of the Australian Institute of Management, a member of the Australian Institute of Building and has served as a member of the Australian Standards Committee for External waterproofing membranes. Michael is a Justice of the Peace and is a Green Star accredited professional; he is also trained and ticketed for industrial rope access, working at heights and confined space entry.

Michael has personally undertaken consultancy investigation involving exploratory works on major projects for the Council of the City of Sydney and investigation and rectification works involving water leaks in recently complete commercial high-rise structures in NSW, VIC and QLD. He has conducted Building Facade Audits for clients including The NSW Government, Sydney Water, Lendlease, Aqualand, Valad Property Group and other major property owners.

He has also been involved in projects on prestigious and heritage listed school buildings such as St. Josephs College, Hunters Hill and St. Ignatius College, Riverview.

Recently Michael has provided 'Consultancy' services for major Commercial Building Companies and Clients including Lendlease, Aqualand, The Council of The City of Sydney, Owners Corporations, Property Manages including Knight Frank & CB Richard Ellis and others.

Building Durability and associated entities also provides expanded Building Investigation Services in matters involving the National Construction Code and Australian Standards.

Michael's personal involvement with building asset management, maintenance waterproofing and building durability with and as a part of 'Building Durability Pty Ltd and associated entities' extends from 1985 and he has been involved in projects on structures all over Australia and internationally.
